Saint Patrick’s Day is largely an American invention, the truth of it buried somewhere beneath a pile of silly plastic leprechaun hats, “Kiss Me” t-shirts and flavorless green lager. Then again, that sure beats a kick in the ribs or anything bare-knuckled. Sláinte!
